History of Crown & Company The history of Crown & Company began in July of 1946 when William E. Crown, Jr. started an accounting business in the old Smoyer Building in downtown Clearwater, while he was still in the Navy.  In 1947 Bill Crown, Jr. and Bob McCrillus formed a partnership.  This partnership continued until 1976 when Crown & Company, CPA's, PA was incorporated.
